I am a psychotherapist practicing in Ojai and Camarillo, California. My practice includes adults, teenagers, children and couples. I also facilitate a group for survivors of trauma and/or addiction.

I have been licensed as a psychotherapist since 2004. I specialize in trauma and attachment and also enjoy working with children and families. Prior to getting my Masters in Clinical Psychology I was a massage therapist specializing in myofascial release and craniosacral therapy. I have also been a waitress, secretary, line worker and full time mother. I have three grown daughters: a midwife, a university representative in Mexico City, and a Peace Corps volunteer. I live in a canyon at the edge of the forest and enjoy meditation, exercise and preparing food.

I take a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the importance of mind, body and spirit. I believe we have an innate capacity to heal. My goal is to help clients reduce their stress, anxiety and self-criticism and increase their ability to enjoy life. I utilize several recently developed methods of psychotherapy (see sidebar). These methods are gentle, deep and efficient.

My emphasis is on safe, contained, client-centered therapy. I have advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Archeology, Brainspotting and EMDR (see links on left). These approaches utilize a mind-body connection as well as an understanding of how the brain stores and releases painful experiences. I specialize in assisting clients in gently releasing memories that keep them stuck in the past. At the same time I help clients strengthen their connection to their deeper, wiser self. My goal is to help clients overcome beliefs and behaviors that limit their ability to feel energetic, happy and more fully alive.

I offer a confidential initial consultation at no charge, either over the phone or at my office. I accept some insurance plans and have flexible fees. Appointments can be scheduled during the week and on some evenings and Saturdays.
